SportFocus sold to Shuttleworth Business Group

SportFocus Ltd, a leading software developer, has been acquired by Shuttleworth Business Group Ltd in a transaction managed by BCMS.

SportFocus Ltd, is a leading software developer of web-based sports management administration systems, websites and mobile apps. Located in Tring, Hertfordshire, the company’s target markets are national governing bodies (NGBs) and their affiliate sport clubs.

Shuttleworth Business Group Limited is an acquisitive software developer operating in a number of different vertical markets across Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.

Deal perspectives

At the time of the transaction, which completed in 2015, Peter Atkinson, sales, marketing and commercial director at SportFocus Ltd, commented: “This is a great development and gives us the opportunity to grow the business even further and continue investment into sports related applications helping with the overall administration of sport.”

Shuttleworth was itself acquired by US giant Electronics For Imaging, Inc. (NASDAQ:EFII). EFI™ is a global technology company, based in Silicon Valley, California, specialising in breakthrough technologies for the manufacturing of signage, packaging, textiles, ceramic tiles, and personalised documents, with a wide range of printers, inks, and digital front ends.
