Roksan sold to Monitor Audio

High-end hi-fi equipment manufacturer Roksan Audio has been acquired by leading consumer electronics specialist Monitor Audio, in a deal advised by BCMS.

Founded in 1985, London-based Roksan is renowned for producing prestige turntables, CD players and amplifiers, with award-winning product ranges including Kandy, Caspian and Oxygene.

Essex-headquartered Monitor Audio – which sells into 100 countries worldwide – has built a market leading position in hi-fi and home cinema speakers, along with streaming products.

Deal perspectives

Monitor Audio Managing Director Andrew Flatt said: “Monitor and Roksan are both UK companies committed to superior audio performance and premium quality. We believe we could triple Roksan’s sales pretty quickly, so we’re excited about the possibilities this acquisition offers.”

Roksan Audio Managing Director Tufan Hashemi added: “We have been striving to develop a range of speakers for a while, and Monitor has been keen to launch a range of turntables and amplifiers, so the combination of two great niche brands will serve both companies well.”

The acquisition, which completed in 2016, includes all employees, brand ownership and equipment, along with manufacturing facilities in northwest London.
