Entropy International sold to BSI
Entropy International Ltd, a world-leading provider of risk, compliance and performance management software solutions, has been acquired by BSI, the global standards and certification body. BCMS advised the shareholders of Entropy International throughout the transaction.
Founded in 1996, Entropy International was headquartered in Lancaster, UK, with international operations in Ottawa, Canada and Exton PA, USA, and specialised in Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) software.
The Entropy System is a market-leading, web-based application for enterprise-level risk and compliance management that helps businesses improve internal control and overall corporate governance. At the time of the transaction, Entropy International’s customer base included companies such as Aggregate Industries, AMD, BAA, Barrick Gold, BT, DHL, Diageo, GlaxoSmithKline, Philips, The Home Depot, Toyota, Vodafone, Wrigley and UK Government.
Entropy’s offering was highly complementary to BSI’s portfolio of business services products. BSI is a world leader in the development of bespoke standardisation solutions and the delivery of management systems standards assessments.
BSI’s reputation and expertise in a wide range of current and new standards areas – such as risk and continuity management, information security management, relationship management and corporate social responsibility – considerably broadened the application of the comprehensive Entropy software system.
As at 2023, BSI’s GRC software still retains the Entropy brand.
