
Indigo4 Systems sold to EMIS Group plc
Indigo 4 Systems Ltd, a specialist software development company for the healthcare sector, has been acquired by EMIS Group plc. BCMS advised the shareholders of Indigo 4 Systems Ltd throughout the transaction.
Formed in 1997, Indigo 4 Systems Ltd develops, installs and supports clinical messaging, requesting and reporting software solutions primarily for the NHS, but also for Clinical Commissioning Groups, Independent Sector Treatment Centres and private healthcare organisations. The Sheffield-based developer’s solutions assist healthcare organisations to improve efficiency, reduce costs and increase data quality.
EMIS Group is a UK leader in connected primary and secondary healthcare software and services. Leeds-based EMIS Group’s clinical systems are already used by over 5,000 healthcare organisations across the UK, from GP practices and out-of-hours services, to community care and sexual health services.
Deal commentary
At the time of the transaction in 2014, Indigo 4 Systems Ltd’s Commercial Director Kevin Hudson, commented: “We recognised immediately the benefit of becoming part of the EMIS Group, and how this allows Indigo 4 to expand and develop further the existing product set, and integrating skills between the organisations.
