White Hinge sold to Dee Set Logistics

Retail distribution group Dee Set Logistics has added the UK’s biggest seller of new items on eBay to its portfolio, in a deal advised by BCMS.

Established in 2008, White Hinge Ltd delivers over 20,000 online orders a week – predominantly via eBay and Amazon – across a range of product categories from hardware, tools and car accessories, to homeware, stationery, and cosmetics.

Headquartered in Stoke-on-Trent UK and with a 3500-strong workforce, Dee Set Logistics is a £125m turnover group supporting brands to drive sales efficiently through retail distribution channels.

“It’s reassuring to know that White Hinge is starting a new chapter in such safe hands” – Steve Hinge, White Hinge

Dee Set said the acquisition would boost growth and drive productivity in an industry where efficiency and reliability are critical to success.

Dee Set Sales Director Simon Machin said: “White Hinge runs an incredibly lean efficient operation, and we are delighted to welcome our new colleagues to the Dee Set family. The acquisition is a great fit, and the combination of our two businesses will create many opportunities for us to scale up and stay ahead in a highly fragmented and fiercely competitive sector.”

The transaction, which completed in 2018, was prompted by the decision of White Hinge founder shareholders Steven and Jacqueline Hinge to retire and sell the business via leading M&A advisor BCMS. Existing White Hinge General Manager Barbara Boyle will oversee the handover.

White Hinge shareholder Steve Hinge added: “While we are sad to be leaving after 10 years of growing our business and building a superb team, it’s reassuring to know that White Hinge is starting a new chapter in such safe hands. I’m not sure we’d be in this position if it wasn’t for the efforts of BCMS, and for that we are very grateful.”
