Vetark Products sold to Candioli
UK pet supplements manufacturer Vetark Products (Vetark) has been acquired by Italian pharmaceuticals group Candioli Srl, in a deal advised by BCMS.
The move sees leading European manufacturer Candioli expand into the UK market, while also offering Vetark enhanced international distribution channels, technical support, and product portfolio development.
Vetark has developed a unique portfolio of specialist animal food supplements for multiple species, serving a diverse customer base including pet owners, vets, universities, scientists and zoos. The company currently exports to over 20 different countries worldwide.
Deal commentary
At the time of the transaction in 2018, Peter & Zena Scott, the founders of Vetark, said: “We have thoroughly enjoyed taking Vetark from an idea in 1988 to the established business it is today, but it is now time to take a different direction and allow the company to continue to thrive under new ownership. We are extremely pleased to be able to have Candioli driving the business forward to reach new heights with Vetark”.
Vetark will continue to operate out of its Winchester office under its current name. With the direction and expertise of Candioli, Vetark is well-positioned to cement its strong position as a leader in the animal health market.
Turin-headquartered Candioli Srl is part of the Candioli group, a family owned group of companies whose core business is in manufacturing and distributing pharmaceutical products, as well as nutritional supplements for companion animals. Candioli has introduced highly innovative products in the veterinary market to improve the health conditions of pets, with products now available in over 50 countries worldwide.
Luca Cravero Candioli, CEO at Candioli Srl, commented: “Candioli is very excited to help Vetark realise its potential, and we would like to reassure customers that they will continue to receive the high level of product satisfaction and customer care that Vetark prides itself on.”
