Travel agent reinforces Dutch market position with franchise acquisition
Two Dutch members of UNIGLOBE’S business travel franchise network have joined forces in a move to improve efficiency and generate economies of scale.
UNIGLOBE Consult Travel has been acquired by fellow franchisee UNIGLOBE THL Travel in a deal advised by international M&A specialist BCMS.
Bussum-based Consult Travel serves a corporate client base, mainly in central Netherlands, while THL Travel offers the same services from their offices in Almere and Alkmaar.
This is the second acquisition of a Uniglobe franchise negotiated by BCMS following a similar transaction in April 2015.
BCMS Benelux Managing Director Derk Kropholler said: “The combination of these two businesses will enable the owners to deliver more efficiency from economies of scale. We saw strong interest from local franchisees, but we believe THL provides the best fit for both parties, and wish them well in the future.”
UNIGLOBE Travel is made up of more than 700 franchises in 60+ countries across six continents , operating under a well-recognized brand, common system and services standards. Headquartered in Vancouver, Canada, Uniglobe has global sales volume in excess of $5bn.
