Siemens’ “fantastic acquisition” of BCMS client features on BBC Radio 4’s The Bottom Line, presented by Evan Davis.
A review of mergers and acquisitions activity in Britain was the theme of a recent panel discussion hosted by BBC Radio 4’s The Bottom Line, which was broadcast on Thursday 31 October 2013.
Presented by Evan Davis, who also fronts the popular Dragon’s Den series, a panel of invited guests discussed a variety of topics, including motives for acquisition and the difficulties surrounding post-acquisition integration.
One of the guests, Juergen Maier, Managing Director of Siemens UK and Ireland, was part of the team that led Siemens acquisition of The Preactor Group Limited, a deal which featured BCMS as lead sell side advisor to the vendors.
When asked to describe a recent transaction, Maier, highlighted Siemens UK and Ireland’s acquisition of The Preactor Group Limited. Maier, who has responsibility for leading and integrating Siemens’ transactions in the UK, went on to describe the company as “small but beautiful” and a “fantastic acquisition” for the multinational corporation.
Hugh Ashburner, Associate Director within the BCMS Major Transactions Group managed the transaction on behalf of the shareholders of The Preactor Group Limited.
Sir George Buckley, former CEO, 3M and current Chairman Designate of engineering group Smiths, and Sir Michael Rake, Chairman of BT Group and Deputy Chairman of Barclays, also participated in the panel discussion.
