Get your business exit-ready
Whenever you choose to do it, selling your business is likely to be the biggest deal of your life. But it can also be a minefield for the inexperienced, often leading to frustration, regret and wasted time.
Join us at Glasgow’s stunning Royal College building for Business Sale Live! – a short evening session designed to address the challenges business owners come up against when they come to their ‘sale and exit’ moment.
You will learn:
- What to focus on when preparing to exit a company
- The right and wrong time to sell
- How to find the best buyers
- How to negotiate the best price and terms
- What other business owners do when they have sold
Hosted by corporate finance advisor BCMS, national law firm MacRoberts LLP, and investment management group Rathbones, business owners who have successfully sold their company will answer your questions in a live Q&A, we will also show you how the business sale process works and how to get the best deal possible when it’s your turn to pass on the company you have built.
Gavin Hastings OBE – Ex-Scotland and British Lions rugby captain Gavin Hastings is director of a consultancy, handling sponsorship and corporate branding. He offers audiences insight into what it takes to be a great team player and leader.
Neil Needham – Neil and fellow shareholders sold windscreen repair firm Autowindshields to the AA after a period of rapid growth. He is open and honest about the challenges of selling up, his experience of earn outs, and surprises along the way. “I would never have envisaged the interest in our business,” he says. Watch a short clip here.
Stephanie Staubach – Stephanie is Managing Director of Glasgow-based public sector insurance claims specialist Topmarks Claims Managament, which was sold to Davies Group earlier this year. She knows all about ‘selling up and staying on’ – a tough transition for some business owners.
Ken Munro – Ken is now retired after selling Clydebank healthcare equipment supplier W Munro to a serial entrepreneur with a similar business in Kent. He talks about what it’s like to sell a family business.
In addition, there are opportunities to discuss your plans in private, and gather ideas to inspire you on what to do after you have sold.
