UK construction consultancy Leach Group acquired by J.S. Held
Leading US multidisciplinary consulting firm J.S. Held has started expanding overseas with the acquisition of UK and Middle East construction consultancy Leach Group in a deal advised by BCMS.
Founded in 1946 and headquartered in Chippenham UK, Leach Group works as a contracts manager, quantity surveyor and employers' agent on construction projects worldwide from Abu Dhabi to Zimbabwe.
J.S. Held employs more than 500 professionals in 50 offices across North America, and has made 14 acquisitions since securing private equity investment from Lovell Minnick Partners in 2015.
Leach Group Managing Director Melvyn Smith added: "We at Leach Group share the belief system and level of customer dedication that J.S. Held exemplifies, and together we will be able to offer our combined specialty services to an international customer base."
Jon Held, President and CEO of J.S. Held said: "J.S. Held is very pleased to be able to serve clients throughout the global market with the addition of the highly regarded Leach Group, and we welcome them to the Held family."
The deal was advised by BCMS with legal support from UK law firm Harrison Clark Rickerbys. The price and terms remain undisclosed, although Leach Group will be rebranded as J.S. Held in the near future.
BCMS Lead Advisor Andrew Sims said: "We are delighted to have secured a successful sale transaction for Leach's shareholders, while also playing an instrumental role in helping J.S. Held expand outside North America for the first time. Leach's reputation will provide a great platform for J.S. Held to grow internationally and so this is an excellent deal for both organisations."
