Watford-based Vegetarian Express is a leading supplier of plant-based ingredients to the catering industry. BCMS worked with the owners to secure £5.6m of investment from a sustainable growth fund managed by Bridges Ventures. In addition to the investment, Tim Kelly – former COO of Premier Foods – joined the company as Executive chairman. Read more.

Expansion plans on back of Great British baking craze

Rainbow Dust Colours was founded in 2008 with three staff, to create a simple supply of cake decorating glitter for the UK market. After rapid growth spurred by the home-baking craze, founders Gary and Carol Brown wanted to seek a buyer to grow the company internationally. Real Good Food PLC acquired Rainbow Dust in a £7.5m deal managed by BCMS. Read more.

Bidvest extends regional coverage

Paignton catering supplier Caterfood serves more than 2000 customers across South West England, and was acquired by UK market leader Bidvest Foodservice in 2016. Caterfood still operates as a standalone business, but now with access to an extended product range. Read more.

Global plans take off for in-flight catering supplier

Founded in 2002, En Route International is a supplier of bakery and ambient food to the travel industry set up by Alison Lessmann.  Following steady growth and expansion in the USA and Gulf, En Route was sold to The Emirates Group in 2012, in a deal managed by BCMS.

Today, Alison is still Managing Director and able to accelerate its international expansion with the backing of a much larger acquirer.
