Sweden’s Polystar has acquired P-OSS Solutions of Spain, in a deal that brings together two of the leading innovators in the telecoms network performance analytics industry. BCMS advised the owner of P-OSS on the transaction.

P-OSS Solutions Founded in Bilbao in 2008, P-OSS is a network performance management (PM) software developer serving Tier-1 telecoms carriers in Europe and the Middle East, via its flagship iPe-Bot platform.

Stockholm-based Polystar is a market-leading supplier of Customer Experience Management (CEM), Service Assurance and Network Monitoring solutions, working with telecoms clients in 50 countries. Its leading products are the OSIX network monitoring platform, and the KALIX analytics solution.

Both companies have been helping their clients manage the transition to multi-service, virtualised networks and to prepare for the advent of 5G, while helping carriers contain costs and improve customer service.

Polystar CEO Mikael Grill said: “Today, we have made a significant step forward to boost our team and resources through a carefully chosen acquisition that brings new innovation to our customers.

“Both Polystar and P-OSS have a history of innovation, flexibility and adaptability, and we are committed to ongoing investment in R&D in our CEM and Service Assurance solutions. This, together with the extended customer base, will strengthen our business and enable us to better serve our clients.”

P-OSS CEO Gorka Esturo added: “Network and service quality are the fundamental contributors to customer experience, loyalty and churn reduction. P-OSS has developed iPe-Bot, a next-generation PM tool which provides data analysis and statistical tools for the entire network infrastructure of mobile network operators. We believe that combining P-OSS’s innovative products with Polystar’s global reach will deliver significant incremental value for all stakeholders.”

BCMS led the transaction for Mr Esturo, with legal support from Martinez Echevarría Lawyers. The price and terms of the deal are undisclosed.

BCMS Lead Advisor Octavio Ariza said: “The P-OSS team have developed highly scalable products to address CEM issues in the mobile telecoms industry, so Polystar is a superb fit. We enjoyed working with Mr Esturo and we wish P-OSS well on this next chapter in its journey.”
