Griffin Engineering & Technical Services, Inc. acquired by Gannett Fleming

BCMS Corporate is pleased to announce the acquisition of Griffin Engineering & Technical Services, Inc., a licensed engineering firm specializing in engineering field services, by Gannett Fleming. BCMS Corporate served as the exclusive advisor to Griffin Engineering & Technical Services, Inc. The transaction was led by Deal Leader, Andrew Wood and supported by Project Manager, Christy Helm out of the Fort Worth, Texas office.

Through the acquisition, Gannett Fleming expands its presence in the Research Triangle region of North Carolina, where the firm has a Raleigh office which specializes in the planning and design of transportation and environmental projects. It also broadens Gannett Fleming’s capabilities with the addition TAB assessments and increases its presence in the healthcare, pharmaceutical, biotech, and commercial industries.

The new employees will bring a wide range of professional engineering services, including engineering design; current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) commissioning and qualification; testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB) of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems; building systems commissioning; energy analysis; and LEED® consultation.

Griffin Engineering was founded in 2003 by Staci Griffin, who served as President, and Jim Griffin, P.E., CxA, EMP, LEED® AP, who was the firm’s Vice President and Principal Engineer. A veteran with more than 20 years of engineering experience, Jim Griffin now serves as Vice President, engineering and technical services for Gannett Fleming.  In her new role, Staci Griffin assists project managers in planning, managing, and delivering services.

All former Griffin Engineering employees will continue to operate from their Morrisville office. The team’s experience includes such marquee projects as LEED commissioning for the third McDonald’s® restaurant in the U.S. – and North Carolina’s first – to be LEED® certified.

They also performed commissioning of the Durham Performing Arts Center, commissioning and balancing of a data center for the U.S. Navy, and energy audits for the North Carolina State Energy Office and its clients across the state.
